The San Francisco-based company announced Franklin-Hodge’s appointment in a press release Wednesday.
In addition to Franklin-Hodge, the company has appointed Meera Joshi, the former leader of the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission, to the same position. Both appointees will advise Remix in its ongoing work with city governments and their transit partners. Remix’s transportation platform is currently used in more than 350 cities across the globe.
“Both Franklin-Hodge and Joshi bring a wealth of policy experience that will be invaluable in such a rapidly changing environment,” the company said in its release.
Franklin-Hodge left Boston in early 2018 after serving as the city’s tech leader since mid-2014. During his time with the city, Franklin-Hodge helped to create its digital team, establish the internal use of data and analytics, and build integral platforms such as Boston.gov and the BOS:311 mobile app. Digital equity and citywide broadband access were also focuses during his tenure.
Remix has been in the gov tech news cycle quite a bit during this young calendar year, namely for raising $15 million in investments and for spreading its deployment to cities like Honolulu.
