The 2025 Digital Counties Survey (DCOS), presented by the Center for Digital Government (CDG) and the National Association of Counties (NACo) offers a valuable opportunity for an in-depth IT self-assessment. This process allows you to evaluate your current operations, achievements from the past year, and future plans while also serving as a catalyst for enterprise IT strategic planning. The survey results provide a robust bench-marking tool, allowing you to compare your technology priorities, operations, accomplishments, and plans with those of other counties across various dimensions.
Additionally, you will have:
• Nationwide recognition and possible awards for IT staff’s outstanding and improved performance
• A third-party report source that helps you build credibility with departments and leaders
• A launchpad for meaningful discussions with stakeholders
• Ideas and lessons learned to continue improvements for the next year
The survey submission deadline is Thursday, March 20, 2025.*
* Please note, this is a full eight weeks for completion. There will not be an extension.
STEPS FOR FILLING OUT THE SURVEY
1. Read the
Survey INSTRUCTIONS document which has resource links, instructions for responses and how to fill out the survey online.

3. Use the
Survey Word document /template/ instrument to compose answers and have a back-up copy.
4. Periodically check the
Survey FAQs which are updated while the survey is open.
5. Enter your answers here (online).
