The Sunlight Foundation is looking for a new executive director. Chris Gates stepped down after less than two years with the watchdog group, Co-Founder and Chairman Michael Klein
announced in a blog post Jan. 4. John Wonderlich, leader of the organization's Policy Group, will serve as interim executive director.
The Sunlight Foundation didn't supply a reason for Gates' departure and, instead, Klein spent the bulk of the announcement celebrating the organization's upcoming 10-year anniversary and highlighting its role in today's political landscape.

Facebook, Gates referenced his departure, called the team "truly amazing" and explained that it was time for him "to move on to find my next challenge."
