Texas GIS Manager's Workshop Focuses on Local Government

"As a GIS Manager, all of the topics covered are critical to my role in the organization."

Geographic Technologies Group, Inc. (GTG) visited Pearland, Texas last week, offering their GIS Manager's Workshop to GIS and IT managers. Pearland was the first of over 10 cities where GTG is offering the workshop this year, according to a release from the company. At the end of the workshop, every attendee said they would highly recommend the workshop to other GIS professionals.

"This workshop is outstanding," said Brian Sterling, GIS Manager of the City of La Porte, Texas. "As a GIS Manager, all of the topics covered are critical to my role in the organization." Topics covered in the workshop include Managing GIS, The Governance of GIS, The Enterprise Implementation of GIS, and The Business Case for GIS, with a focus on local government.

Attendees learned how to successfully find the necessary funding for their GIS. The GIS Manager's Workshop was originally created for GTG's grand opening in early December.
