Post will leave her city position as soon as a successor is appointed, after which she will become executive vice president and chief strategy officer at New York Law School, according to the announcement.
Post joined DoITTin December 2009, and during her tenure as New York City CIO she led numerous IT projects including the modernization of the city’s IT systems, data center consolidation and an upgrade to the city’s 311 call center, 311 online and NYC.gov.
“Over the past 10 years, we have fundamentally transformed the operations of New York City agencies and elevated New Yorkers’ expectations of how efficient, user-friendly and transparent their government should be, and a large part of that is because of the tirelessness and talent of Carole Post,” Bloomberg said in his prepared statement.
Last year, Post was named New York State Public Sector CIO of the Year.
