How can emergency management officials use virtual reality systems to prepare?
Answer: with tsunami simulators
A team from the Aichi University of Technology in Japan created three virtual reality simulations to help people prepare for a tsunami. The simulations, which can be experienced using Oculus Rift, Gear VR or Google Cardboard, are intended to help people mentally prepare for what it would be like to live through such a scenario. Videos of the simulations can be viewed on YouTube, some of which include interactive 360-degree viewing.
