Through a partnership between the city’s Economic Development Corp. (NYCEDC) and the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, the incubator will open shop in Forest City Ratner’s 15 MetroTech.
The NYCEDC will pay $750,000 over the next two years to help fund the project.
And this isn’t the first time the NYCEDC and NYU-Poly partnered to launch incubators to create technology jobs. Since 2009, the two entities together have developed three incubators: the Varick Street Incubator in Hudson Square; the NYC ACRE; and the Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass (DUMBO) Incubator in Brooklyn, according to the NYCEDC.
