Texas Department of Information Resources Awards Academic Superstore Contract for Education Software

A newly signed agreement between the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) and Academic Superstore offers low pricing to publicly funded education entities when purchasing education software, according a DIR release. Included in the contract are 85 different publishers and hundreds of titles.

"Our education customers have been asking DIR to contract for an expansive list of titles," said Brian Rawson, service delivery director for DIR. "We are excited that we are able to meet that need."

"The educators of Texas truly appreciate DIR's efforts to improve access to technology for the classroom," said Commissioner of Education Shirley J. Neeley. "Thanks to DIR for keeping the main thing the main thing: the nearly 4.5 million children we serve in Texas public schools."

The contract contains 85 different education software publishers including:
  • Inspiration Software
  • Sunburst
  • TechSmith
  • Leapfrog
Texas public education customers may place their orders directly with Academic Superstore by referencing the DIR contract number DIR-SDD-244 to receive the discounted pricing.
