Wons has been serving as an adviser to the company since February. According to his LinkedIn profile, the CCO role “functions as a mentor and provides foundational leadership around product and experience innovation, customer success teams, partner and channel expansion, intellectual property, back-office functions supporting the company’s growth plans and industry evangelism to support the continued expansion of PayIt’s thought leadership.”
As Illinois CTO, Wons worked with PayIt to deliver on the state’s IT strategy.
“The PayIt digital government and payment platform is helping federal, state and local government entities dramatically improve citizen self-service while driving significant cost-savings for the agency,” he said in a press release. “I had the unique opportunity to be a PayIt client prior to joining the team as we launched the Illinois “FIRST” platform and am a true believer in this unique technology and the team behind it.”
Wons left state government in early 2018 and took a job with the cybersecurity firm SAI Global, where he no longer works.
