That’s the amount raised by Brisk Teaching in a Series A funding round.
The California company sells AI tools that help teachers design lesson plans, detect AI-generated homework turned in by students and perform other tasks.
Bessemer Venture Partners led the funding round, which included previous investors Owl Ventures, South Park Commons, and Springbank Collective. This fresh capital will go toward market expansion, personalized student support and other areas.
In September, Brisk Teaching said it had raised $5 million in a seed funding round.
The company said its technology is used by more than 1 million educators in more than 100 countries.
Brisk touts its products as helping school systems deal with “a historic teacher shortage caused by burnout,” and claims that its technology can save educators up to 10 hours per week.
"Across every industry, generative AI will automate most digital work in the next decade. In education, this shift will be uniquely positive, freeing teachers to focus on what matters most: building authentic relationships with students," said Arman Jaffer, founder of Brisk Teaching, in a statement. "The challenge is the fragmentation of legacy classroom tools. By living on top of existing apps, Brisk is tackling this fragmentation and unifying workflows while building toward our larger vision: replacing legacy categories with an AI-native edtech stack that enables true end-to-end automation."
Brisk said it has partnered with more than 2,000 schools in the past year.
Like in other areas of state and local government, AI is sweeping through education systems at all levels, with officials, teachers, parents and students racing to keep up.
