The move follows the Canadian firm Versaterm’s acquisition of Mesa, Ariz.-based JusticeTrax in August. JusticeTrax has been in business since 1995, well before the advent of software as a service, and the latest offering will give customers access to a more modern version of its solutions.
That means automation of security updates as well as faster and easier deployment of new products, as well as real-time monitoring and the ability to store data without need for on-premises computing power.
JusticeTrax’s software suite is centered around forensic activities in police departments; more specifically its laboratory information management system gives customers tools to operate a forensic laboratory and deliver results to support police work.
“The transition to a cloud-based solution will fundamentally transform all aspects of the JusticeTrax customer experience,” said JusticeTrax President Simon Key in a press release. “Along with enhanced security, guaranteed service availability and faster deployment of product updates, JusticeTrax Cloud removes the significant capital expenditure and internal resource investments associated with the on premises hardware procurement and maintenance requirements.”
