The massive project aims to integrate numerous state financial operations – including accounting, budgeting, cash management and procurement operations – into a single system. The state’s initiative is called FI$Cal, standing for Financial Information System for California.
Under the contract, CherryRoad Technologies Inc., an Oracle Platinum partner and public sector systems integrator, is charged with establishing an integrated financial management system through the implementation of Oracle PeopleSoft. CherryRoad has subcontracted with M Corp. The work outlined under the contract will take several years to complete.
The FI$Cal project is a partnership of the state Department of Finance, Controller’s Office, Treasurer’s Office and Department of General Services.
Jeremy Gulban, CherryRoad’s president, said the consolidated system “will completely revolutionize the way (California) does business.”
“We’re extremely honored to work with the state on such a landmark project,” said M Corp CEO Alex Castro.
CherryRoad is headquartered in Morris Plains, N.J. and has offices in Sacramento.
