For more than 25 years, Harold Tuck has dedicated his career to the county of San Diego. Most recently, as chief information officer, Tuck was responsible for all operational and strategic information technology functions for the county, providing services to 17,000 county employees at over 200 facilities. One of Tuck’s primary and highly visible tasks was ensuring that county government and its citizens received the full benefits of a multi-year, $700 million IT Outsourcing Contract, making the county the first municipal government to outsource all IT functions to the private sector. 

Joining San Diego County in 1986 as Electronic Data Processing coordinator for Health Services, he rose through the ranks to become regional general manager for the Health and Human Services Agency's Central Region, and director of Housing and Community Development. In 2002, Tuck became the general manager for the Public Safety Group.

In addition to his county service, Tuck serves on the following boards of directors: HP Board of Advisors, Microsoft Board of Advisors, Neighborhood House Association, Rest Haven Children’s Health Fund, the Community Advisory Board for Union Bank, and the San Diego Futures Foundation. 

He received the “Best of California 2012” award from the Center for Digital Government for Demonstrated Leadership in Management of Information Technology, and was identified as one of Government Technology magazine's Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers in 2011.

Tuck holds degrees from Morgan State University, National University and San Diego State University.
