The Ohio Office of Information Technology has plans to streamline the state’s IT infrastructure in a few key areas. CIO Katrina Flory outlines several current projects underway.
NEW ORLEANS — Fresh on the heels of the state’s “A” grade in the Center for Digital Government’s* bi-annual Digital States Survey, Ohio is forging ahead with infrastructure improvements across the enterprise.
At this week’s NASCIO conference in New Orleans, Chief Information Officer Katrina Flory discussed a recent RFP from the state intended to streamline and standardize their Active Directory services. She’s hoping the solicitation will generate significant interest from the vendor community.
Flory and her team are also reviewing their application inventory to identify things that could move to the cloud. For the few remaining agencies using mainframe, the state has initiated conversations on migrating to as-a-service technology there as well.
