According to a recent announcement, ClassWallet's spend management platform will be used to track and report distribution of funds, and will “streamline the purchasing and accounting processes associated with the acquisition of products and services related to sanitization, personal protective equipment, COVID testing, education technology and connectivity.”
The tool, offered through a one-year contract covering the 2022-2023 school year, will allow administrators to upload invoices and receipts, make payments and manage purchasing with automated record-keeping, the announcement said.
"Our hope is that utilizing ClassWallet platform will enable our nonpublic schools to efficiently purchase the COVID-related products and services they need to continue the delivery of in-person instruction throughout the 2022-2023 school year,” T.J. Kelly, the chief financial officer of the Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction, said in the statement.
Noting that COVID-19 has exacerbated K-12 staffing shortages and added strain on administrators, ClassWallet CEO Jamie Rosenberg said that the goal of the partnership will be to eliminate “the burdensome accounting side of managing these much-needed EANS [Emergency Assistance to Nonpublic Schools] II funds.”
