Jobs: Hagerty Consulting

This company is expanding in the emergency management field.

Homeland security funding is not what it once was for state and local jurisdictions. Back in the heyday, it was $3.2 billion annually. Even cops and firefighters could not spend it all on buying "toys for boys." So that left some funding for hiring consultants for various planning efforts, training and exercises. Today the annual HLS funding is down around $1.2 billion and holding steady -- for the moment.

There has been some contraction in the consulting company market that I've written about previously. There is one company, Hagerty Consulting, which is based in the Chicago area with other offices in D.C. and Texas, that is expanding and looking for people of various talents to manage projects.

See their recruitment page for the types of expertise they are looking for and current job openings.

They have been sucking up talent from other organizations. Two additions I know are Christine McCombs and Gisele Parry, two very qualified people with great skills for their respective positions.
