(TNS) — Burlington County election officials are providing voters the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the county’s new voting machines prior to the 2024 General Election. Every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., staff from the Burlington County Superintendent of Elections and Burlington County Clerk’s Office are available at the County Corner Store site in the Moorestown Mall at 400 Route 38 to assist with voter registration and election-related matters.

The new voting equipment, consisting of electronic ballot marking devices and tabulators, will be on display at the County Corner Store each Saturday for voters to inspect before the election. This same equipment will be deployed at all Burlington County voting locations during the early voting period and on Election Day, Nov. 5. Superintendent of Elections staff will also provide tutorials on how to use the new machines.

“Voting is a fundamental right and we’re proud to partner with the Burlington County Clerk to make sure voters have all the information they need to exercise that right however they choose to,” said Superintendent of Elections Dawn Marie Addiego.

The new machines, which have been used for early voting in Burlington County since 2021, are described as “highly secure, easy to use and produce a voter verifiable paper record of every ballot.” Thousands of county voters have already successfully used the technology during past early voting periods and this year’s primary election. The Nov. 5 election will mark the first time the machines are used on Election Day during a general election.

In addition to the in-person lessons, the county has released a 3-minute computer animation video providing a step-by-step guide on how to vote with the new machines. The video is available on the Burlington County Election Services Page.

Burlington County voters are reminded that the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming general election is Tuesday, Oct. 15. Eligible voters can register at the Superintendent of Elections Office at 301 Harper Drive in Moorestown, online, or at the County Corner Store on Saturdays when elections staff are present. Voters can also check their registration status online.
