(TNS) — Midland County residents looking to track primary election results tomorrow night will need to head to a new website as the county has made the switch to Enhanced Voting.

The county had previously utilized Election Reporting, powered by Election Source, to release unofficial election results on election night.

Enhanced Voting, a Florida-based company established in 2013, has a mission "to design and develop secure, efficient, and accessible election technology solutions for election officials and voters." It is focused on security, accessibility, practicality, customer experience and innovation.

To find the new election results website, residents can go to midlandcountymi.gov. At the top of the county's website, visitors will see a header for August Voting Information and will need to click "find out more!"

Once on the new page, they can click "Midland County Election Results — Aug. 6, 2024" and will be taken to Enhanced Voting.

On Enhanced Voting, viewers will see a long list containing all 272 contests in Midland County on one page. One of the benefits to changing over to the new website, according to Midland County Chief Deputy Clerk John Keefer, is that residents can "follow" races that they're interested in by clicking a star in the top right corner.

After going through the list and selecting the races they want to follow, the user can click "My Followed Results" at the top of the page and see only the races they are interested in. Keefer said this feature will benefit voters by allowing them to create their own custom election results dashboards.

Another new feature can be found by clicking "Download Reports" at the top right corner of the website. On this page, viewers can download various summaries of the election results:

—Summary results by contest: Shows the total number of votes for each candidate and the total votes cast for each contest

—Summary results by contest with contest-level details: Shows the total number of votes for each candidate, the total votes cast, the number of undervotes and overvotes, and the total ballots cast for each contest

—Summary results by contest with voting method details: Shows the same information as the contest-level details summary, but further breaks out the results to show the number of voters that voted on Election Day, that used absentee ballots or that voted during Early Voting.

—All results excel: Shows the same information as the contest-level details summary, but in an Excel spreadsheet

Keefer expects voters will appreciate the results with voting method details, in particular, as residents often want to know how many people voted absentee or in early voting versus Election Day.

Archived elections can still be seen on ElectionReporting.com, but eventually those too will be moved over to Enhanced Voting. Keefer anticipates that move will be completed in 2025.
