For more than five years, Wade served as a senior information security officer at VeriFone in the Atlanta region, according to his LinkedIn profile. He has also served as manager of cybersecurity at Travelport, a technology firm specializing in travel management.

“A consummate IT security professional, his background spans over 30 years,” reads the AIM tweet. “In the past, he has been responsible for information security governance, policy compliance and more.”

Wade’s new role in Atlanta comes as the city continues to recover from a wide-reaching ransomware attack nearly a year ago, which penetrated much of city hall, affecting a wide range of city operations.
