This week, Alyssa Rodriguez was named the director of IT, a job previously referred to as the chief information officer.
Tuesday was Rodriguez’ first day with Department of Information Technology, but she has worked for the city of Henderson for a total of nine years. Most recently, she served as the assistant director of Public Works, according to LinkedIn. She steps into a role previously held by long-time CIO Laura Fucci, who retired in May.
Kathleen Richards, a spokeswoman with the city, said Rodriguez was the ideal candidate because of her experience in enterprise applications and smart city efforts. Richards said the position’s duties haven’t changed and it was “simply retitled.”
