Amazon delivery drivers work hard, especially this time of year. And, for a limited time, the company let customers thank them with a small tip at no cost to the buyer.
Beginning Dec. 4, the e-commerce company gave customers the ability to send their delivery drivers a thank you and a $5 tip courtesy of Amazon. Any purchase within the past 14 days was eligible, but you could only send one tip per purchase, and Amazon would only give tips for the first 2 million thank you requests.
Grateful customers quickly reached that threshold — on Tuesday, to be precise. Now, Amazon will still send your driver your note of gratitude but they won’t get a gratuity. You can send your thanks at the link here or by saying “Alexa, thank my driver” if you have an Alexa-powered device.
