You have to admit, no one does Twitter quite like Elon Musk. The Tesla CEO took to the social media platform on Saturday night to ask the Internet to weigh in on a very important question: should he pay taxes? The Twitterverse said yes.

The move was reportedly in response to a recent proposal to tax unrealized gains. According to its proponents, unrealized gains allow billionaires like Musk to avoid paying income taxes because they are profits that don’t actually exist until they are sold. According to Musk, this means that “the only way for me to pay taxes personally is to sell stock.”

Musk’s Twitter poll asked if he should sell 10 percent of his Tesla stock in order to pay taxes. More than 3.5 million people weighed in, with 57.9 percent voting yes and 42.1 percent voting no. While Musk said that he would honor the results “whichever way it goes,” he has yet to comment since the poll ended other than to reiterate that statement. But it probably won’t be long until we hear from him.
