How fast can a life-size Lego McLaren P1 go?

It won’t be setting any speed records, but that doesn’t make this drivable life-size Lego replica of the McLaren P1 any less impressive. It’s comprised of a whopping 342,817 Technic pieces, 11 of which were manufactured specifically for the replica. And it took 6,134 hours to design and plan, plus an additional 2,210 hours to assemble.

The car had to be built with a steel frame and regular wheels and tires so it could actually be driven. It’s equipped with an electric car battery and powered by 768 Lego electric motors divided into eight motor packs, like the V8 engine on the real thing.

It’s also about 385 pounds lighter than the actual P1, weighing in at 2,690 pounds. McLaren F1 driver Lando Norris took it for a spin on a full lap around the Silverstone Circuit that he raced in the British Grand Prix.
