National Hispanic Heritage Month began earlier this week on Sept. 15, and Google has launched a new feature for Google Assistant to celebrate. Now through Oct. 15, users can ask any assistant-enabled device “Hey Google, what happened today in Latino history?”
Google Assistant will answer with historical facts about that day in Latino history. These facts include everything from historical events to influential people and were curated by Arizona State University and the US-Mexico Foundation. For example, Sept. 16’s fact discusses Mexican Independence Day, which occurred on that date in 1810. It describes what happened on that day and how the people of Mexico celebrate today.
