NASA astronaut Matthew Dominick has been tracking Hurricane Milton as the Category 4 storm approaches Florida. But he hasn’t been doing it from the ground. Dominick is one of the astronauts currently aboard the International Space Station (ISS), having arrived as part of the Crew-8 mission on the SpaceX Dragon Endeavour.

Dominick has been capturing footage of Milton as the ISS passes over it, some of which he shared on social media. Even from space, the hurricane looks massive in the photo he posted on X on Wednesday morning, in which he noted that it looked larger but less symmetrical than the day before. He also shared a time-lapse of the ISS passing over the storm.

NASA shared additional photos of Milton from space on Wednesday from the official ISS account on X. The hurricane has affected NASA’s operations in Florida, including Dominick’s return to Earth. The Crew-8 mission was originally scheduled to depart the ISS for their return this week, but that has been postponed until the 13th due to the extreme weather in Florida. The Europa Clipper mission scheduled for launch Oct. 10 from Kennedy Space Center was also postponed.
