Remember NFTs? We barely do either, but someone is still trying very hard to make them a thing, and they’re betting on Disney’s star power to help. Enter Disney Pinnacle, a partnership between Disney and NFT company Dapper Labs.
Dapper is licensing content from Disney in order to create NFTs of characters from its treasure trove of content including Pixar, Star Wars and more. They’ll be available as tradeable digital pins in the form of nonfungible tokens (NFTs).
The details are still scant on the ground, and it's still unclear exactly what these pins will look like. The Disney Pinnacle website is up and running with a waitlist for those interested in getting the first shot at purchasing the pins. But with the drop in popularity of NFTs lately, it’s anyone’s guess as to how this will play out.
