Beyoncé fans will get a treat this Christmas on Netflix. The streamer will be hosting two live football games on Dec. 25, and the singer is set to deliver a live performance during halftime of the second game.
The game in question is the Baltimore Ravens vs. the Houston Texans, set to begin at 4:30 p.m. ET. Beyoncé’s performance will include songs from her popular country album Cowboy Carter, marking the first time songs from this album have been performed live. The singer released a video trailer for the performance online that featured the first song on the album, “Ameriican Requiem,” and Netflix said she is “expected to feature some special guests who are featured on the Cowboy Carter album.”
However, fans also do have reason to be wary of Netflix’s attempts at a successful live performance. This weekend the service attempted to livestream a boxing match between YouTuber Jake Paul and former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, but so many people tuned in that the service became glitchy and unreliable. A similar experience also occurred last year when the livestream of the Season 4 reunion of Love Is Blind saw more viewers than the streamer’s infrastructure could handle.
