Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Uber has launched a new service that will let you use the ride-share platform to return packages. The new service is part of Uber Connect, the company’s same-day local package delivery service.
For a $5 fee, or $3 if you subscribe to Uber One, you’ll be able to hail an Uber courier through the app to hand off your return. Packages must have a prepaid shipping label and be fully sealed and ready to go. Once the package has been dropped off at the post office or chosen shipping company store, you’ll receive a confirmation photo of the receipt.
The service officially launched Oct. 4 in 4,950 U.S. cities.
