Civil War Veteran's List to Be Copied for Public Access
Book deterioration necessitates electronic backups
A book listing local area Civil War veterans that was discovered in the Forsyth County, N.C., Clerk of Court's Office will be preserved in the state's archives. The book had deteriorated and could not be viewed by the public, according to an article in the Winston-Salem Journal, and so microfilm and CD ROM copies will be made for that purpose. The Clerk of Court is required to make records available to the public.
