Sao Paulo Department of Mass Transit Gets Remote Surveillance System

Remote intelligent video surveillance capabilities for the administrative buildings

The city of Sao Paulo, Brazil -- the most populous city in South America -- has entered into an agreement to provide remote intelligent video surveillance capabilities for the administrative buildings housing Sao Paulo's Department of Mass Transit.

The Sao Paulo Department of Mass Transit project includes the installation of video surveillance equipment covering 25 buildings throughout the city of Sao Paulo, including administrative and maintenance buildings. The installation includes a combination of 280 fixed cameras and domes that will transmit video from remote sites to seven GVI Security Solutions Digital Watchdog DVRs housed in a central location.

A single GVI Digital Watchdog DVR is capable of capturing and storing on its hard drive surveillance video transmitted to it from a network of from one to many cameras providing instant access to any video playback. When used as part of a networked system, the DVRs can capture, transmit and store video from anywhere in the world.
