Weeks has been working for the city of Colorado Springs’ Information Technology (IT) Department since 2013, most recently serving as the IT business and operations manager. In this role, she took on the responsibilities of the infrastructure operations group. Prior to 2013, she worked in various IT positions within the private sector, for companies like HP and EDS.
“Mary Weeks has been an integral part of the City’s IT team for eight years, with increasing amounts of responsibility and expertise,” said Suthers in the press release. “She has the respect of her colleagues and an invaluable understanding of the City’s IT and cybersecurity environments.”
Suthers said he looks forward to Weeks’ leadership as the city faces the “IT challenges of the future.”
“As a leader in the IT Department at the City for the past eight years, I am proud of the talented team we have, their level of professionalism and dedication to the City,” said Weeks.
She has a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
The appointment is pending confirmation by the City Council.
