Gilbertson, who began his new role yesterday, will focus his efforts on assisting state agencies in improving customer service practices and modernizing technology used within state government.
“Over the last 20 years, I’ve been doing similar work with state and federal government customers, including all branches of the military, as well as Fortune 500 corporate customers,” Gilbertson said in a release.
Before joining Helix Business Solutions, Gilbertson was the owner and principal consultant at Forstara in Bozeman, Mont., and held various IT roles at RightNow Technologies. He also worked for Socrata in Seattle.
Gilbertson replaces former CIO Tim Bottenfield, who retired at the end of last year. Bottenfield came to the role following a 30-year career in state government. He had previously served as CIO at the Montana Department of Revenue.
“Improving customer service and modernizing technology in state government is critical to better serving the people of Montana,” Gov. Greg Gianforte said in a release. “Kevin is highly qualified to lead the state’s digital redesign effort and help us implement the Montana comeback.”
