“My absolutely wonderful 2.5 years at Indiana Office of Technology, my very first home in public service, came to an end yesterday,” she wrote in a LinkedIn post.
However, she is not leaving the public sector. Her new role as chief information officer for the Indiana Department of Child Services began on July 11, Graig Lubsen, director of communications and external affairs for IOT, told Government Technology in an email.
“We’re glad that Anu is continuing her professional career in public service and that IOT can serve as a promotional pipeline for our sister agencies,” Lubsen wrote.
Bag’s role of director of enterprise GRC will be temporarily filled by Chief Information Security Officer Hemant Jain until a permanent replacement is hired, he said. Jain has been with IOT since May 2018, and started in the CISO position in an interim capacity in 2020.
Among many career accomplishments in her role with IOT, Bag created Government Women in Technology, to offer women in the industry a collaborative professional group. The state-recognized organization also works to help high school and college students and individuals that were formerly incarcerated to gain technology career skills.
Other accomplishments in her time with IOT include completing a cybersecurity risk assessment for local health departments and helping agencies craft business continuity plans.
