In addition to over 20 years of private-sector IT experience, Wittmer served as the chief information technology officer (CITO) of Kansas from July 2015 through February 2018. He resigned after Gov. Jeffrey Colyer was sworn in.
After his time with the state of Kansas, he shifted back to the private sector, working with Ensono as public sector adviser. According to his LinkedIn page, he followed that experience with another private-sector role with RSM US LLP.
