Following its Annual Conference in New Orleans last week, the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) has announced its new executive leadership for the 2024-2025 program year.

Amanda Crawford, chief information officer for the state of Texas, will serve as president, the organization announced Tuesday. She served as vice president during the last year.

The organization’s Executive Committee leadership ranks will be rounded out by J.R. Sloan, CIO for the state of Arizona, as vice president; and Alan Fuller, CIO for the state of Utah, as secretary/treasurer.

Similar to New Jersey Chief Technology Officer Chris Rein, who was newly named last year, Timothy Galluzi, CIO for the state of Nevada, will join the Executive Committee this year as a new director. Other committee directors include Tracy Barnes, CIO for the state of Indiana; Stephanie Dedmon, CIO for the state of Tennessee; Ohio CIO Katrina Flory; New Hampshire CIO and Commissioner Denis Goulet; Georgia CIO Shawnzia Thomas; and Wisconsin CIO Trina Zanow.

Crawford, who is also currently executive director of the Texas Department of Information Resources, has worked to encourage innovation, with a special focus on cybersecurity in the form of improving cyber education, and on the state’s response to the changing threat landscape. She previously served the Texas Attorney General’s Office for nearly two decades before joining DIR. Her earlier roles included division chief of the open records division, deputy attorney general for legal counsel, and deputy attorney general for administration.
