Schell started in the role in July 2018, having served as the director of network services with the state's Information Technology Department (NDIT) since 2009. During his service, Schell focused on unifying services and strategies as the state modernized legacy applications. Schell will be moving on to a role in the private sector, having accepted the CTO position of High Point Networks.
Felchle brings knowledge of the state’s information technology space, having been part of NDIT since 2007 and working within broader state government since 2004.
“I am passionate about continuing to lead North Dakota in its transformational journey to ensure we have the best and most effective technologies for our customers and our citizens,” said Felchle in the announcement.
The news follows the recent appointment of deputy CIO Greg Hoffman as the state’s interim CIO. He took on the role after the departure of CIO Shawn Riley, who left for a role in the private sector.
