Round Rock, Texas, Appoints Ramsey Saad to CIO Position
Following the recent retirement of Heath Douglas who served as the city of Round Rock’s CIO for over two decades, Ramsey Saad has been tapped to lead the city’s Information Technology Department.
Ramsey Saad has been chosen to lead the Information Technology Department as the CIO for the city of Round Rock, Texas — a city 15 miles north of Austin.
This follows the departure of the city’s former CIO, Heath Douglas, who served in the role for 22 years before his recent retirement.
Saad has worked with the city for 14 years in various roles. He started with the Geographic Information Systems group before moving to other IT services in different roles. He was promoted to the role of assistant director of information technology in 2015.
Saad has selected Megan Tschoerner to take on his previous role of assistant director of information technology.
“From public safety to the library, we’re working on several exciting projects to improve the experience for our citizens, business community and visitors,” said Saad in the Aug. 3 announcement.
